The Perfect Motion
In 1906, during a performance of the royal ballet in Paris, Auguste Rodin encountered Khmer dancers for the first time. Fascinated by the movements of their dance, he created 150 remarkable drawings in just a few days. A century on from that date, to the staging of a new performance on tour in France and Switzerland, the Royal Ballet of Cambodia has survived its country’s terrible history and takes us on a journey from East to West, into a resplendent and mysterious world.
